04685 F-4F Phantom JG71, 50th Anniversary..................1/72............... The legendary F-4F Phantom is a two-seat, all-weather combat aircraft that is used by the German Air Force as a fighter/interceptor. It will remain in service until it has been totally superseded by the Eurofighter Typhoon. JG 71 therefore is the sole remaining squadron to use the Phantom. In the summer of 2009, at therequest of the 40 year old fighter squadron 71 "Richthofen" in Wittmund, a special livery was presented that again showed off the F-4F Phantom in brilliant limelight.
